An Isham for everyday use

When you think of functional pocket knives for everyday EDC, the designs of Elijah Isham are not necessarily the first thing that comes to mind. Hardly any other knife designer ventures so much at the limits of what is technically feasible. It is all the more surprising that the Civivi McKenna comes from the pen of this very designer – here you get a front flipper that definitely bears Elijah Isham’s design signature, but is still very practical for everyday EDC.

The modified sheepsfoot blade has been given a slight belly for better cutting performance, which not only has a practical use, but also looks great. For the steel, the choice was a beautifully Damascus steel that has been ground very thin. The blade is not – as one might initially assume – opened via the blade aperture, but via the small front flipper. Thanks to the ceramic ball bearings, the blade flies out of the hilt with a lot of authority.

When you see the McKenna open, you’re sure to notice what makes this Isham design stand out: the continuous, flowing line with which the linerlock-secured blade transitions into the handle is simply beautiful. The slim tapered handle features very robust, black G10 scales and a convertible deep-carry clip for a subtle appearance in your pocket.
